The Adventure Company

You need to arrive at the meeting location at the time listed on your confirmation! No need to be earlier, but earlier is better than later. For our full trip schedule, click here.

You can quickly book most daily raft trips online 24/7. If you are booking online for the following day, we ask you do so before 5:30pm.

Please feel free to give us a call at 719-395-6494 and we can help you choose the perfect trip for your group. We are more than happy to book your trip over the phone!

For multi-day trips, full moon floats, guided fishing, and expert trips, we ask you call one of our friendly adventure coordinators to go over logistics and schedule your trip.

Please visit our packing list page for a full list of what to wear. We recommend quick dry clothing and tennis shoes or sandals with a secure strap (no crocs of flip flops).

Please do not wear cottons, jeans, or anything that will keep you wet.

We have sanitized wetsuits & dry tops available to rent for free as well!

When choosing a raft trip, please consider the following:
-Level of adventure your trip is seeking
-Age and endurance of your group
-Desired duration of trip

Please feel free to give our adventure coordinators a call so we can help you choose the perfect trip for your group! Please honestly consider your group member’s abilities when making your decision!

Yes, in order to be guaranteed a guide and spot on the boat, you will need a reservation, paid in full. We ask you make your reservation no later than 5:30pm MST the day before your trip.

Once you arrive at the meeting location you may park your car and check-in, we will transport you to the beginning of your trip in one of our busses, and pick you up at the end to drive you back to the meeting location / your car!

Depending on your trip, this may change a bit! In addition to our guide, on our beginner trips we will usually fit up to 7 guests in a raft.

For advanced trips, we will usually fit up to 6 guests.

For expert trips, 5 guests can fit comfortably.

This is a general guideline and depending on the situation, we may adjust these capacities up or down. The final decision will be determined by our guides when your group arrives, keeping safety and comfort in mind.

Every trip will include the necessary rafting gear: free sanitized wetsuit rental gear, helmets, PFDs, paddles, rafts, transportation to and from the river, and a guide!

All ¾, Express trips, and Full-Day trips will also include our Ultimate Fajita Feast lunch.

Some trips include transportation from summit county, so please read the descriptions carefully. These are the Express Trips for Browns Canyon and The Numbers.

Once you arrive to the meeting location, please leave all valuables and items you don’t want to get wet in your car. Treat your car like a locker! Lock your car, and give your keys to your guide. They will lock them in a secure lockbox so you don’t lose them in the river.

P.S. If you are an express trip, you may leave items in the comfort shuttle you arrived in, it will be locked and secure while you are on your trip.

We raft rain or shine! Our most popular trips are located on the Arkansas River which is located in an alpine desert, so storms pass by relatively quickly. You will notice it may be raining and storming in nearby areas like Breckenridge, while we have sunshine and very quick, passing scattered storms here.

For trips in more alpine environments the weather can differ, so ask our adventure coordinators about our sanitized wetsuit & dry top rentals if it’s looking cold!  We will have an honest discussion about any recommended rental gear. Please feel free to bring your rain jacket if it looks like rain is in the forecast on the day of your trip, but we do have splash jackets available to rent, so you don’t have to use your own.

Yes, your children must be at the age listed (or older) to raft the specific section. Depending on the trip, we do have age restrictions in place for your safety.

While we do not have a weight restriction, we do require that all guests can safely wear our universal sized, coast guard approved life vests. If this is a concern don’t hesitate to give us a call! The decision if we will be able to take someone down the river safely will ultimately be determined by our experienced guides before your trip.

Unfortunately we can not bring pets along on the river. We would recommend making arrangements for them ahead of time. It can get very hot in the car in the middle of summer, so please don’t leave them in the car.

For our daily rafting trips with lunch, we serve a chicken and steak fajita feast. This consists of chicken and steak, fajita veggies, fresh fruit, salad, chips, salsa, and dessert.  The meat and cheese are separate and everything is served buffet style to easily accommodate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. All multi-day trips please let us know if you have dietary restrictions as this is very customizable.

Any other restrictive diets please let us know- we may be able to make an exception or you can bring your own food.

Whitewater rafting is an amazing opportunity to be in the outdoors with friends and family! At our outfitter, safety is our top priority. While there is inherent risk in any outdoor activity, we take extra steps to ensure your safety by only employing experienced guides. Rest assured, you’re in good hands with The Adventure Company.

If you had an unforgettable experience on the river, tipping your guide is a nice way to show them your gratitude. We suggest tipping like a you’re at a restaurant. You can give them cash directly or give it to our front desk staff. You can also tip with credit card at the front office. You can ask them to share their Venmo, or we have their Venmo QR code up at the front office. Whatever you can give does not go unappreciated! They work very hard to ensure your safety and enjoyment on and off the river.

At The Adventure Company, we invest in and care about your experience.  TAC is setting the industry standard for safety and organization on and off the river. For a comprehensive list of how TAC sets the standard, click here.
