In northern Colorado, the options for whitewater raft trips are more susceptible to shorter seasons and lower quality whitewater. Therefore, in order to get the very best rafting, a drive for the following options is recommended.
Beginner
Pumphouse Canyon
Raft trips through Pumphouse Canyon are a wonderful, scenic experience for all ages! You will enjoy a relaxing float with some easy whitewater and incredible, steep, canyon scenery on the Colorado River. Experience the notorious “jump rock” and natural riverside hot springs. This trip is great for young children and adults, but also provides great opportunity for team-building groups.
Intermediate
Boulder Canyon
For a quick whitewater rafting splash in the face, close to Frisco and Breckenridge, you will enjoy the beauty and excitement of this short river run. You can expect clear, fast flowing rapids with a beautiful rocky mountain backdrop. This river has an inconsistent season.
Intermediate
Clear Creek
Clear Creek is a narrow creek with fun splashes and fast moving water. Only 30 minutes from Denver, this convenient location attracts many tourists each year. However, if your time allows we recommend the extra travel time to the Arkansas River for raft trips that will provide everything that a rafter could hope for.
Intermediate
Browns Canyon
Browns Canyon National Monument on the Arkansas River one of our most popular raft trips! The unique combination of lots of exciting whitewater, spectacular canyon scenery, great mountain views of some of Colorado’s highest mountains and opportunities to spot wildlife make this the ideal raft trip. Exciting enough for seasoned paddlers, but not too scary for first-timers. You will want to bring your friends and family for epic rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, and Big Drop!
Advanced
The Numbers
This stretch of river contains some of Colorado’s most exciting whitewater rafting! With some soaking splashes, a few medium-sized drops and nearly non-stop action, you will want to be in good physical condition and be a good swimmer for The Numbers raft trips. Enjoy amazing rocky mountain views of the impressive, snow-capped Collegiate Peaks while resting between long exciting rapids. Perfect for the whitewater veterans and adrenaline-seeking first timers.
Expert
Pine Creek
This expert rafting trip contains the most challenging whitewater on the Arkansas River. Narrow, fast, and technical, the whitewater river drops nearly 200 feet over its steepest mile! Previous rafting experience is highly recommended and good physical condition is required.
